LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Clark County Coroner’s office reported Tuesday 87 heat-related deaths in 2025, so far.
A county report outlined 79 of the deaths where the heat was a factor, with the remaining eight cases not included as the individuals have not yet been formally identified or had next-of-kin notified.
The report is not final as 90% of cases take up to 90 days to investigate the cause and manner of death, the county said.

The county said certain drug classifications make people more susceptible to succumbing to the heat, including the use of certain drugs, including fentanyl. In addition to the use of drugs, other contributing factors in heat deaths can include illnesses and medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, as well as behaviors such as physical exertion, inappropriate clothing, lack of acclimatization and poor fluid intake…
