ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Anchorage Fire Department rescued two people from a rising tide on Ship Creek Tuesday.
According to a Facebook post, AFD dispatch received a call around 4:47 p.m. from a man claiming he and a young family member found themselves in quickly rising water and the sandbar they fished from was shrinking due to the rising tide. They had waders but no lifejackets and the water had reached their armpits.
