SWANNANOA, N.C. (WLOS) — Ten months after Hurricane Helene devastated Swannanoa, signs of recovery are emerging in the heart of Beacon Village, including a new neighborhood grocery store that community members say will bring more than fresh food.
The Rite Buy Grocery is under construction at 106 Alexander Place and is expected to offer fresh produce, meat, dairy and pantry staples, much of which is sourced from local farmers. Owners hope to open by October but say that timeline depends on how quickly county permits and inspections are completed.
