BUFFALO, N.Y. — Two New York State Department of Transportation workers are being credited with helping a member of the Erie County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol — and his horse — out of jam on a busy urban highway.
“In the DOT you never know what you’re going to encounter on a day to day basis,” said Benjamin J. Gilbert, a state Department of Transportation Safety and Health rep, describing a situation that unfolded last Wednesday along the Kensington Expressway in Buffalo.
