In North Buffalo, Kenmore, and Tonawanda, the thunderstorms filled several streets with water, causing flooding in basements around town, and causing sewer backups all over the region.
Stormwater stations all over the region started to report sewer backups in the middle of the storm, and neighbors all over Western New York went to social media to talk about how bad the roads got while the rain was falling in the region.
Large rainfalls and flooding like this are the primary cause of sewage ending up in our waterways…
