1 million gallons of legacy pollutants to be removed from inside the USS Yorktown

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) – Gov. Henry McMaster and the South Carolina Office of Resilience announced that it has begun its second and final phase of the USS Yorktown Remediation project.

Crews removed the one millionth gallon of toxic pollutants back in Feb. 2025.
