Alamo historian’s parents file wrongful death lawsuit over his suicide

The parents of an Alamo historian who died by suicide after he was fired from his job have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the nonprofit that runs the shrine, its fundraising affiliate and the company that handles its human resource tasks.

Raymond George Galasso was suffering from depression when he shot himself with a musket and ammunition from an Alamo gun locker less than two hours after his termination on Feb. 28, 2024, the lawsuit says. He was 24.

The Alamo Trust Inc., also known as ATI, and San Antonio’s SWBC “ambushed and discriminatorily fired Ray with full knowledge of Ray’s mental disability and his suicidal ideations,” Raymond Matthew Galasso and Colleen Galasso say in their lawsuit…
