U.S. Navy builds homes, hope for Sioux Falls veterans

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A little rain isn’t slowing down a group of Navy sailors from building homes for veterans at the Veterans Community Project in Sioux Falls.

“We would have stayed outside all day. But since the rain came in, we just change gears and pivot,” sailor Wesley Benoit said.

So, the crew is shifting Wednesday’s focus to the interior work on some of the homes.

“Hanging microwaves, caulking the sinks, hanging TV mounts, all the inside works, hanging doors inside for the finishing work,” sailor Enrique Jauregui said. “Just little details like that making it look pretty.”…
