Suspected Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested After Tragic Death of Elderly Woman and Her Dog in Los Angeles

A hit-and-run in Los Angeles has resulted in the arrest of 31-year-old Ever Marquez after a fatal collision on Monday evening that left an elderly woman and her dog dead. According to LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division, the incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. along Osborne Street, when a white Honda Accord struck the woman, whose name has not been released, and her pet as they were on the roadway.

The suspect’s vehicle was later identified by officers from the Foothill division, who took Marquez into custody without incident, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the dog also succumbed to severe injuries. Marquez is now at LAPD Van Nuys Jail, facing a felony hit-and-run charge with bail set at $30,000, and his booking number is 7065481, while motorists and pedestrians alike are reminded of the legal obligations and safety measures to avoid such tragic incidents on the road.
