MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Cushman & Wakefield, a Chicago-based commercial property developer, proposed a new jail facility in Shelby County, aiming to revitalize the North Memphis community through development and reinvestment.
The site also aims to reduce taxes for nearby residents while freeing up space from detention facilities at Shelby Farms, allowing the area to be used as an urban park, taking suggestions from the CTAS recommendations laid out in the county’s latest assessment.
