The Olive Branch Police Department’s K9 officer, Riki, is now better protected in the line of duty thanks to a donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
K9 Riki recently received a custom-fitted, bullet- and stab-resistant vest. The vest, which meets National Institute of Justice (NIJ) safety standards, was donated to the department at no cost.
The donation was made possible by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., a national 501(c)(3) charity based in Massachusetts. Since its founding in 2009, the organization has provided over 6,100 protective vests to law enforcement K9s in all 50 states—totaling more than $6.9 million in donations…
