School board member suggests removing pledge of allegiance in schools

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A Providence School Board member has sparked debate after expressing opposition to students reciting the pledge of allegiance.

During an interview on the Bartholomewtown podcast, Corey Jones was asked if students should say the pledge.

“I don’t think so,” Jones said.
