Mayor Lurie’s ‘fresh start’ for troubled Dream Keeper program hits snag

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie is facing an early setback in his plans to reform the troubled effort his predecessor launched to invest millions of city dollars in social service organizations focused on addressing historic inequities in the Black community.

Some are upset with the results of the competitive bidding process his administration launched this spring to rid the Dream Keeper Initiative of the complaints of favoritism and conflicts of interest that once tainted the program.
