LEHI, Utah (ABC4) — During a traffic stop, a Lehi police K9 located thousands of fentanyl pills and methamphetamine.
At about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, officers with the Lehi Police Department pulled over Michael Herron, 36, and Brecka Dean, 48, on northbound I-15 near Point of the Mountain. Court documents show the officer made the stop due to their black Jeep’s taillights being off.
According to police, K9 Rocco, and his handler, were called in to assist. Rocco performed a sniff of the vehicle and found over 5,000 fentanyl pills along with more than 11 grams of fentanyl powder.

Rocco also sniffed out 25 grams of methamphetamine. In total, the seized drugs hold a street value of about $40,000 dollars, police say.
Charging documents allege that, when asked, Herron told officers he didn’t own the large quantity of pills and that he was “only there to be the tester.”…
