Video shows service dog running into road after North Charleston Police stop

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Dashcam footage has been released showing a service dog running into the road before being struck by a vehicle during a North Charleston Police encounter.

A man told police on July 8 that his son had an active bench warrant and provided them with a description of his son and where he walks with his service dog, according to the incident report. The father also told officers that his son would give police fake names to avoid being recognized or arrested.

They later spotted a man, Angelo Whitewolf, who matched the exact description the man’s father had provided and attempted to stop him on Ashley Phosphate Road, police spokesman Harve Jacobs said…
