Westlake Police arrest New York man driving under the influence after he tried to run away with a gun

WESTLAKE, Ohio (WOIO) – Westlake Police arrested a New York man with a lengthy criminal history after he tried to escape police custody while allegedly in possession of a gun under disability.

According to Westlake Police, on August 3 at around 3:45 a.m., an officer stopped a car at Crocker and Detroit roads after it drove through a red light.

The New York 34-year-old told police he had a marijuana cigarette and an open container of alcohol after officers pointed them out…
