MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WJW) — A 41-year-old Florida man told police he was “just being silly” when he allegedly repeatedly pointed a laser at a sheriff’s helicopter in early August.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office shared video of the incident on its Facebook page detailing the seriousness of the matter.

According to the post, members of the Aviation Unit were conducting a security check during the early morning hours of Aug. 2 when they noticed a green laser beam striking the aircraft.
“The laser beam was obstructing the vision of MGst. Rawls as he was piloting AIR-1,” the video stated. “They observed the culprit, 41-year-old Adam Santiago-Lugo, standing in his driveway with binoculars and a laser pointer.”…
