New York Cannabis Sales Top $890 Million in 2025 as July Sets New Monthly Record

New York’s legal cannabis market has surpassed $890 million in adult-use sales so far in 2025, with July setting a new monthly record at $148.76 million, according to new data from analytics firm Headset.

The year-to-date total of $890,714,194 reflects steady monthly gains since January, when sales started at $108.49 million. February saw $105.62 million, followed by $121.06 million in March, $128.73 million in April, $135.86 million in May, and $142.19 million in June. The latest jump to nearly $149 million in July marks the state’s largest single-month total since legal sales began. The average price for an eighth of marijuana in July was $37, while concentrates averaged $48 per gram. Flower was the most purchased category, totaling $51.26 million in sales. Vapor pens ranked second with $38.13 million, followed by pre-rolls at $30.86 million and edibles at $19.46 million. Other product categories included concentrates ($4 million), beverages ($2.47 million), tincture and sublingual products ($1.5 million), capsules ($780,000), and topicals ($300,000).
