Amarillo Civic Center Complex set to implement new bag policy

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Civic Center Complex announced that it has implemented a new bag policy starting Monday, Sept. 1. The policy limits the size and type of bags allowed inside the building for all ticketed events.

According to Amarillo Civic Center officials, the new bag policy aims to improve the safety and entry process for guests.

The bag policy will be enforced for the majority of ticketed events purchased through panhandletickets.com, including:

  • Wranglers Hockey games
  • West Texas Warbirds Football games
  • Bombers Soccer games
  • Ticketed events at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts, the Amarillo Symphony, Lone Star Ballet, and Amarillo Opera.

Approved Bags Include

  • Clear bags no larger than 14″ x 14″ x 6″
  • Wallet-sized clutch purses (with or without strap) no larger than 5.5″ x 8.5″
  • One-gallon Ziploc-style bag

Prohibited Items Include

  • Backpacks
  • Briefcases
  • Coolers
  • Drawstring bags
  • Purses larger than 5.5″ x 8.5″
  • Oversized tote and mesh bags
