Five Charged with Retail Theft and Burglary in Oak Brook, DuPage Officials Report

Five individuals are now facing charges of retail theft and burglary following two separate incidents in Oak Brook, according to a recent announcement by DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis. Alan Jackson Jr., Tamika Wilson, Juan Brochero-Sarabia, Estefani Munoz-Alvarez, and Anthony Ruiz-Fernandez appeared in court charged with felonies in connection with alleged thefts from Macy’s and Ulta Beauty. The group was apprehended after police responded to calls from store personnel reporting the incidents. According to official sources, the merchandise value allegedly taken is estimated over $1,700.

The first incident occurred on August 5, around 2:54 p.m., when officers arrived at the 22nd Street Ulta Beauty store. Brochero-Sarabia and Munoz-Alvarez are alleged to have selected and concealed multiple fragrance items before exiting the store. It’s reported that Brochero-Sarabia deliberately knocked over a fragrance display to facilitate the theft. The pair allegedly fled in a white Kia driven by Ruiz-Fernandez but were later found in a disabled vehicle and arrested, as per statements obtained by the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office.

The same day, another theft was reported at the Macy’s in Oakbrook Center at about 6:31 p.m. This time, Jackson and Wilson are accused of pilfering items such as cologne and shorts, with Jackson allegedly stashing the goods in his backpack. When officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on the getaway Chevy Malibu driven by Wilson, they were led on a car chase. Wilson is additionally facing charges for allegedly trying to dangerously evade arrest, culminating in a twenty-minute pursuit that reached speeds up to 81 mph before being thwarted by spike strips…
