North Carolina man sentenced for bomb threat at courthouse

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – A Waynesville man was sentenced to at least five years in prison for calling in a bomb threat to a North Carolina courthouse.

On March 19, 33-year-old Cody Blake Strickler called 911 dispatch to report a bomb at the Haywood County Justice Center.

“The emergency is at the courthouse, the new one, there’s a bomb, C4, sausage links on detonators, remote switches, you need to evacuate the courthouse now,” Strickler said, according to the District Attorney’s Office for the 43rd Prosecutorial District…
