Maryland’s lottery and gaming control agency manages lottery prizes and casino winnings around the state, but recent audits have found that some restrictive state laws are causing the agency to miss out on a lot of potential revenue.
This morning we spoke with investigative journalist with Open The Books, Jeremy Portnoy to explain how that is and how much the state could be losing out on.
Portnoy told us, “this new audit found that last year the state actually paid out 9 million dollars from it’s casinos to people that owed money to Maryland.”…
