$10K offered for man accused of theft, assault at Macy’s in Wheaton

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) released photos and a video to the public in hopes of getting the name of a man accused of stealing from a department store and aiming a weapon at a security officer in Wheaton on Sunday.

The alleged theft and assault happened at a Macy’s in the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton.

MCPD officials said the man in the images walked into the store around 4:35 p.m. and reportedly stole clothing. As the alleged thief was leaving, a loss prevention officer tried to stop him, and the man allegedly pointed a knife at the officer before running away. No injuries were reported…
