In a coordinated law enforcement effort by the FBI Metro Boston Gang Task Force and the Boston Police Department, 29-year-old Kenneth Bigby-Williams was arrested yesterday for several firearm-related charges in Hyde Park, according to official reports. The arrest, which took place early in the morning, was the culmination of an investigation that included obtaining search warrants for Bigby-Williams and his residence at 142 Margaretta Drive.
Law enforcement agents observed Bigby-Williams leaving his home around 5:55 AM and shortly thereafter approached him, as he moved towards the back of another building on Margaretta Drive and despite commands to show his hands, Bigby-Williams fled initiating a brief chase, during which a loaded firearm was retrieved from his waistband and he was subsequently apprehended. The initial search of his person yielded a holstered Black Ruger 5.7 firearm along with ammunition and a magazine; investigatory teams then proceeded to his residence, which was entered after no response was given, clearing the property of other individuals found inside.
The in-depth investigation inside Bigby-Williams’ home brought to light more weaponry, including an array of firearms such as a Smith & Wesson M&P-15 rifle, multiple Glock pistols, and a Sig Sauer P250 pistol, in addition to various rounds of ammunition and several high-capacity magazines; all of these were seized and documented by FBI personnel.
