As Christian County Public Schools looks ahead to the opening of the new Christian County High School, the school board is cooperating with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to ease at least one potential burden. Thursday night, the Board, acting as the District Finance Corporation, voted unanimously to sell a 0.3-acre easement at the Stadium of Champions on Lafayette Road to the Transportation Cabinet.
The Cabinet has plans to put in left and right turn lanes on Lafayette Road at Lovers Lane, as well as improve the sight distance both north and south of the intersection. The easement will allow them to accommodate drainage. CCPS will receive $31,800.
During the regular board meeting, the Board approved 5 change orders for the new High School project totaling an $82,840 credit to the district.
