A South Carolina woman who badly needed a win happened to score big when she bought a $20 lottery ticket, according to an Aug. 1 press release from the South Carolina Education Lottery.
The Midlands woman, whose identity has not been publicly released, bought a $20 scratch-off ticket on the spur of the moment from the City Fuel & Food store in Columbia—a gas station she’d never patronized before. “I was riding down the road, and I prayed for a lottery win. And that’s exactly what I got,” the lucky winner said.
After getting the scratch-off ticket, the woman unveiled the boxes to find a “MONEYBAG” symbol alongside one which said “2MIL,” which entitles her to a $2 million cash prize. After signing the ticket and confirming the prize, the dazed winner went to sit in her car to mull over the astonishing events. “I was shaking when I signed the ticket.
