KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — The school buses were running, the pencils were sharpened, and more than 60,000 students across Knox County headed back to class Thursday for the first day of school.
Across the district, more than a dozen schools welcomed new principals, including New Hopewell Elementary, where students were greeted by new leadership of Rolen Blaine, and plenty of first-day excitement.
