A Series of Earthquakes Strikes the Inland Empire

This morning, August 6th, three earthquakes struck San Bernardino County between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This is the most recent series of earthquakes among many that have occurred in the Inland Empire this summer.The first took place in Ontario at 1:02 a.m. It was a preliminary 3.5 magnitude earthquake about 4 miles deep. 12 minutes later, another 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck the same area, with a depth of about 3.7 miles. At 2 a.m. the third earthquake struck in the Lytle Creek area, with a magnitude of 3.7 and depth of 6.5 miles.
