Your Friday is now a FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY! It’s going to be a hot and humid. South winds are pumping in a rather sultry air mass. Inland high temperatures will rise to near 90 degrees. The mega-muggy air will drive our afternoon heat index into the upper 90s to near 100 degrees. Folks outside should limit physically exerting activities and drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. Hazy sunshine will mix with some scattered clouds.
Saturday is also FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY! We’re expecting thunderstorms to spread into northeast Wisconsin, especially through the afternoon hours. There’s plenty of moisture and unstable air available. An advancing cool front will help “break” a layer of heat aloft that would normally prevent the storms. However, one limiting factor might be a canopy of cloud cover prior to the arrival of the storms. Time will tell how this plays out…
Regardless, strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible tomorrow with high winds, hail, and heavy rainfall. If storms track through the same locations for a prolonged period of time, flash flooding may become a threat. Fans attending tomorrow evening’s Packers-Jets preseason game at Lambeau Field should be “weather aware” to stay safe…
