Suspect arrested for trying to light 2 UNM buildings on fire

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police arrested a man accused of trying to set fire to two buildings on the main University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque.

Police responded Thursday, at around 10:37 p.m., to the Farris Engineering Center, near Central Avenue and University Boulevard. They found the fire on the west side of the building and then found another fire set near the Student Residence Center Building. Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews extinguished the fires.

Police used surveillance video to track down the suspect. They arrested him at around 11:01 p.m…
