Actor Feuds Over ICE Job

Actor John Leguizamo has sharply criticized Dean Cain’s recent announcement that he’s joining Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Leguizamo, known for his activism as well as roles in films like Romeo + Juliet, posted an Instagram video targeting Cain, the star of the 90s television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. In the video, Leguizamo questioned Cain’s decision, referring to him as a “loser” and a “moron.”

Cain’s announcement came via a social media video where he explained his decision, citing his background as a sworn law enforcement officer and his desire to contribute to public safety. He praised ICE’s efforts under the Trump administration, highlighting the arrests of “criminals, including terrorists, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, MS-13 gang members, drug traffickers.” Cain stated he would be sworn in as an ICE agent as soon as possible.

This move coincides with a broader recruitment push by the Department of Homeland Security, which includes incentives such as a $50,000 signing bonus and student loan forgiveness.

The announcement has sparked debate. CNN commentator Scott Jennings suggested Cain’s involvement could boost recruitment efforts. However, podcaster Van Lathan dismissed Cain’s influence, suggesting his motivation stemmed from financial need.
