BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — One person died after a two-vehicle crash in Bergen early Friday afternoon, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said that Joseph M. Meli, 39, of Batavia, died after his vehicle struck a car heading in the other direction on Route 33 in Bergen while Meli was allegedly attempting to pass another vehicle. The crash occurred shortly after noon.
The driver of the other vehicle was seriously injured and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, officials said. Three other passengers suffered minor injuries.
