CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person has lost their life in a shooting early Thursday morning, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).
Around 5:15 a.m., officers responded to the 10200 block of Reindeer Way Lane after reports of a fight. This is in a neighborhood off Mount Holly-Huntersville Road, near Interstate 485.
Cmpd officers arrived to find one person unconscious. While officers and members of the Mecklenburg EMS Agency (Medic) were giving medical aid, they found that the victim had been shot. That person was taken to the hospital but died soon after.
Authorities have not said if anyone has been arrested. A homicide investigation is underway.
