Charlottesville pediatricians reports rise in hand, foot, and mouth disease

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – A common and very contagious disease is on the rise among young children in Charlottesville.

Pediatricians are reporting an increase in hand, foot, and mouth disease, which is characterized by small bumps that turn into blisters and often a fever or sore throat.
