Woman charged with DUI after late night collision on Ravenel Bridge

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — A woman has been charged in a collision that shut down multiple lanes on the Ravenel Bridge late Thursday night, according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

Kayliegh Gillespie was booked for DUI first offense, and received a courtesy summons for having an open container of alcohol in her vehicle.

The incident report states that at 11:18 p.m. officers were notified of a collision on the Ravenel, and as officers arrived on scene they identified a black BMW and a Black Chevy Silverado were involved in the crash.

When officers approached Gillespie they reported that there was an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her, and officers located an open and empty can of white claw in the drivers side door…
