A Hopkinsville man charged with killing a dog was among several indictments issued by the Christian County Grand Jury on Friday.
A true bill was returned on Martin Hartwig on charges of torture of a dog or cat, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, 2nd offense with aggravator, second-degree cruelty to animals, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, and no or expired registration plate.
Hartwig is accused of killing a dog on Springmont Drive in July after it urinated on his couch. According to Hopkinsville Police, Hartwig slammed the dog to the ground, killing it, and then left the scene on a motorcycle before officers arrived.
