DENVER (KDVR) — Jefferson County deputies had an “unusual pursuit” on Highway 73 near the town of Conifer.
In a post to X, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said that two horses on Thursday decided to take a trot southbound on the highway “like they owned the road.”
The sheriff’s office said that traffic was completely stopped due to the horses, but deputies were able to detain the animals and then walk them safely back to their owners.
“They tried to stirrup trouble, but we reined them in,” said JCSO.
