Back-to-School: ‘Urgent priority to hire as many teachers as we can’ ASD looking to hire more staffing for next school year

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Back-to-school is just around the corner for the district in Alaska. Anchorage students grades 1 through 12 will return to the classroom next week.

Anchorage Superintendent Dr. Jharrett Bryantt expressed plenty of enthusiasm about the upcoming year.

“I’m really excited to welcome back our students to the first day of school,” Bryantt said. “I’ll put it this way — a lot of people have been working really hard to make sure that this is a normal, successful school year.”

Financial impact changes in 2025-26 school year
