THIS WEEKEND:Saturday is starting out mostly cloudy with morning lows in the low 70s. This afternoon, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with afternoon highs reaching the mid to upper 80s with only a stray shower possible. Sunday, look for a few more showers to be around but things will still be a bit isolated with afternoons in the mid to upper 80s.
NEXT WEEK:Monday and Tuesday will feature scattered showers and storms as we ramp up the rain chances. Afternoon highs both days will be in the mid to upper 80s. Then, those rain chances become more Summer-like with pop-up afternoon and evening showers and storms each day with highs getting back into the low 90s. The heat index will be on the rise too, with upper 90s by the weekend.
TROPICS:There’s a couple of areas that we’re keeping an eye, but neither is an immediate threat to land, much less the United States. One area is located in the central Atlantic and it only has a 20% chance of development, but regardless, it will remain in the open Atlantic. The other area worth watching is an area of low pressure coming off the African coast. It has a long way to go so there’s no immediate concern, but it’s definitely worth watching in the long-term. Storms that far out, it usually takes 10+ days to track across the Atlantic and have any impact on the U.S., so we have plenty of time to watch it…
