Tennessee’s expanded school voucher program launches amid glitches, parent frustration

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – As the new school year begins across Tennessee, so does the first year of the state’s expanded school voucher program, known as Education Freedom Scholarships.

The program, administered by the Tennessee Department of Education, is offering 20,000 vouchers worth nearly $7,295 each to help parents cover the cost of private school tuition.
