Wilmington Woman Charged in July Shooting That Injured 24-Year-Old, Police Say

WILMINGTON, DE — A 23-year-old Wilmington woman has been arrested in connection with a July shooting that left another woman injured, city police announced.

The incident occurred on July 5, 2025, at approximately 12:23 a.m., when officers from the Wilmington Police Department’s Uniformed Services Division responded to reports of gunfire in the 1100 block of Pleasant Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 24-year-old woman had been shot and had already arrived at a hospital, where she was treated for her injuries and listed in stable condition.

The case was assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division. Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as Jada James and obtained warrants for her arrest…
