Austin church shaken after recent incidents against LBGTQ+ community

AUSTIN, Texas — Two recent incidents in Austin that occurred within one week are being reviewed by the police department’s Hate Crimes Review Committee. The U.S. Department of Justice defines a hate crime as a crime motivated by bias against people based on things like race, religion and sexual orientation.

Life in the City United Methodist Church’s lead pastor, Rev. Glenn Luhrs, remains steadfast in what his church stands for after his church was vandalized on July 31.
