Last Sunday’s column recalled the 1930 kidnapping of millionaire railroad magnate Ralph Waldo Morrison, later an owner of the St. Anthony Hotel, by a small gang of newcomers to the “snatch racket,” as the sometimes-lucrative crime was then known.
