Teen boy shot while standing in doorway of North Philadelphia home: Police

A 16-year-old boy was injured after police said he was shot while standing in the doorway of a home in North Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, officers were called to the Johnson Homes on N. 27th St. shortly before midnight on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, after receiving a report of a shooting.

Small said that when police got to the scene, they found a 16-year-old boy suffering from a graze wound to the right side of his head. He was rushed to an area hospital and placed in stable condition…
