Jasper County School District, following an Aug. 5 vote by SCDE, is now under the full management of the state for the next six years. This vote was taken due to a request by State Supt. Ellen Weaver.
The Jasper County School District is now the third school district in the state behind Allendale County and Williamsburg County School Districts to have been taken over by the South Carolina Department of Education.
