WalletHub looked at 100 cities around the country to find which are the most pet-friendly cities to make a home with your furry friends. Among the cities on the list are three spots in Colorado, including two that are some of the best spots for pet owners:
- No. 22: Colorado Springs
- No. 38: Denver
- No. 76: Aurora
Of the Centennial State locales on the list, Colorado Springs ranked the highest, earning high marks in the outdoor pet-friendliness category.

To determine the list, WalletHub compared the 100 most populated cities in the U.S. across three factors: pet budget, pet health & wellness and outdoor pet-friendliness. These factors were then evaluated using 23 relevant metrics, including veterinary care costs, dog insurance premium, pet caretakers per capita, dog-friendly restaurant per capita, pet-friendliness of rental market, average home square footage, animal shelters per capita, strength of animal protection laws, weather, dog parks per capita, walk score and more…
