(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A man walked into the lobby of the Stetson Hills Division, cursing and making threats toward police and community members, demanding to be put in jail on Saturday, Aug. 9, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
According to CSPD, around 1 p.m. on Saturday, the man sat in the lobby as officers evacuated people from the station near Tutt Boulevard and Barnes Road before making contact with the man, later identified as John Work. After the doors were locked to keep others out, officers tried to de-escalate the situation from behind the glass of the front window.
CSPD reported that Work threatened to break the front glass doors, then picked up a chair and threw it at the glass separating him from officers and station staff. He was then taken into custody…
