New Greenville crosswalk features prioritize safety, city says

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The City of Greenville is prioritizing pedestrian safety ahead of the new school year.

Assistant City Engineer Nick DePalma said residents can expect to see high-visibility crosswalks, flashing pedestrian signs and enhanced Greenville Police Department enforcement in school zones.

Over the past year, the city said its engineers have revamped multiple crosswalks near school zones. This includes the installation of flashing crosswalks that alert drivers to pedestrians on Ferris Road near Augusta Circle Elementary and on Old Augusta Road near Blythe Academy…
