West Michigan drivers frustrated but excited as MDOT sets beams for US-131 bridge

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin work on a new ramp bridge at the US-131 business route in Kalamazoo.

Crews will set beams for the ramp bridge beginning Friday at 10 p.m., working on the project until 6 a.m. for the next three weekends.

Portions of US-131 will be closed during that time, as MDOT cannot conduct the work above live traffic.
