Cobb’s Middle School Teacher of the Year: Professor Lakeissha Grange

Betty Gray Middle School’s own Professor Lakeissha Grange has been named Cobb County School District’s 2025 Middle School Teacher of the Year, earning praise from across the county—and especially from the proud community of Mableton, where the school is located.

Now entering her fourth year in the district, Professor Grange teaches mathematics at Betty Gray Middle School and also serves in leadership and advisory roles, including as secretary of the magnet program at South Cobb High School. Betty Gray Middle, located in the City of Mableton, refers to its educators as “professors,” a title Grange embodies with distinction.

“It’s been a great experience,” Grange said. “It’s nice to have a community that supports you, and the Betty Gray community is very supportive. The students want to learn, and I help them understand how math applies to the real world.”
